Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare 2007 Annual Report and Community Impact. Entitled Expecting More, the report chronicles several moving stories of patients who conquered significant health challenges with the help of dedicated caregivers at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare facilities. These stories illustrate how we are continuing our quest to live out our Mission, not only in our hospitals, physician offices, and shelters, but also beyond our own walls where the need is often greatest. Each year we are finding new hands-on ways to help create healthier communities. In terms of numbers, our community benefit totaled nearly $166.9 million for fiscal 2007, including $20.3 million in charity care for underserved patients who could not afford medical care.
