Started more than 125 years ago and formally incorporated in 1983, our organization is committed to living out the Mission and Values of our Sponsors, the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, by providing excellent and compassionate health care and housing services to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

As a not-for-profit organization, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare reinvests all of its net income into the communities it serves. Its organizations are dedicated to delivering quality to patients through advanced technology, highly-trained staff, and superior and compassionate service; caring for each person’s body, mind and spirit with respect and dignity; working to improve the health of the communities it serves; and ensuring health care access for everyone.

In fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, the organizations of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare contributed more than $166 million to the communities they serve, including the cost of charity care, Medicaid shortfalls, non-billed community services, cash and in-kind donations, education of health professionals, and research activities.
