Orientation Process: Clicking on the links to the left will take you to pages that outline the orientation process for your job category in more detail. You will find information on a variety of topics, such as: our mission, vision and values, patient rights, environmental and patient safety, HIPAA, service excellence, and diversity. This information is for you to review prior to your start date. In addition to the orientation information, you will find checklists and forms to complete and bring with you to your first day of work. Directions for navigating this web site: Select and click on the appropriate page for your job category in the left hand column Follow the step by step directions on the page Links to forms and orientation materials are embedded in the instructions. Links are underlined and turn red in color when you place the cursor over them. When the cursor moves over a link, it changes to a hand. Left-click once to follow the link to the PDF page with the form or document. The easiest way to navigate the orientation documents is to open the Pages tab on the left-hand side of the PDF file and click on the pages to move through the document. When you are finished reviewing or printing that page, USE THE BACK ARROW to return to the page with the instructions for your job category. Clicking on the X/close button will take you back to the Wheaton home page. Definitions of Job Categories and Disciplines: Types of Agency staff: Travelers (Long-Term Contracted Staff): Individuals with verified credentials providing services within Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare for an extended period of time (30 days or more) utilizing a contract agreement with an agency which identifies a specific provider and includes requirements related to their scope of practice, length of service, requirements for cancellation and commitment to hours and shifts. Per Diem Staff: Individuals with verified credentials providing services within Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on a limited or day to day basis utilizing a contract agreement with an agency which does not specify individual providers or length of service. These individuals may be cancelled when necessary. Non-Clinical: Staff that does not deliver patient care OR work with equipment, etc. that touches patients. Nursing Staff: RN, LPN (both Travelers and per diem Agency staff) Nursing Staff-Assistive: PCA, CNA, Tech’s Clinical: Non-nursing staff that delivers patient care. (Ex: PT, OT, ST, RT, Pharmacy, etc.) Allied Health: Dependent staff who have privileges under a physician (Ex: PA, NP, Nurse Midwife, etc.)
