Student Internships/Externships

(**This site is intended for students interested in non-nursing internships. Students interested in a clinical experience for Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Assistants and Dental Hygiene are directed to the Clinical Student site.)

Please complete each "Step" as you prepare for your internship/externship within Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

Step 1

Intern Request Form (non-nursing students)

You will need to contact the appropriate Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare department for approval prior to completing this form.

Step 2

Health Requirements

These documents are required to be submitted prior to the start of your internship. Please submit documentation to the individual at the bottom of this page at least one week before your internship is scheduled to start.

Step 3

After reading the following three forms, please print, sign and return these forms to the individual at the bottom of this page. These forms are required to be submitted prior to the start of your internship.

Step 4
Access and read about the "Expectations for the Journey".

Step 5

Access and read the Orientation Manual.

Step 6
Access and print a Student-Instructor orientation checklist for you and your Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare department contact to complete upon your arrival.

Step 7
Access and read the appropriate OSHA and safety information for the area you are assigned to Iowa Safety

Review the content for the following items
